Conceptual design is basically needed in the preliminary phase of the investments, where the goal is to determine the basic parameters of the planned technological process, the main equipment and devices, and other supplementary units (utility systems).
During the feasibility study, alternative technical solutions corresponding to the aim of the project will be developed and compared. Its aim is to present and evaluate each option based on techno-commercial (CAPEX-OPEX) analysis, supporting the determination of the optimal technical scope in the initial phase of the project.
Basic design is the basic document of the detail design, where typically the technological process of the plant is defined, specifying the main process parameters of the equipment and devices. It also defines the tasks to be carried out during detail design phase for all other disciplines. Basic design may be accompanied by a cost estimation with +/- 30-40% accuracy.
Detailed technical documentation required for the implementation of the project which contains the specifications, requirements for all related activities (procurement, construction, inspection, testing, etc.) for the entire scope of the work.
As-Built Design Documentation
The purpose of the As-Built Design Documentation package is to prepare such documentation (based on the Detail design documentation) which reflects the implemented state of the project. The documentations support the Customers by having well-founded documentation package for the future reconstructions and upgrades.
The goal of the FEED plan, based on the Basic plan, is to compile technical documentation from the point of view of the construction plan, which already takes into account the specifics of the installation site, the specific requirements of the Customer and the technical detail of +/- 10-20% can be determined on a market basis.
Technical design documentation required for obtaining the permits from Authorities relating the implementation of the project, which based on the Authority requirements (regulations and standards). The permit documentation is based on the FEED or the Detail design.
