Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia – May 21, 2025
As part of our continued commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, Sherbiny proudly participated in World Environment Day 2025 under the global theme #BeatPlasticPollution. The campaign culminated in an official certificate of recognition for our efforts—solidifying our stance on reducing plastic waste across our operations.
Tackling Plastic Waste Through Action
Throughout our annual Environment Awareness Week, we focused on shifting behaviors and embedding practical green habits across all Sherbiny sites. This year’s theme, “Ending Plastic Pollution,” inspired a series of company-wide initiatives, including:
-
Zero Plastic Day: A challenge encouraging all employees to avoid single-use plastics for a full day
-
Internal awareness campaigns: Posters, recycling zones, and eco-friendly product use promoted across departments
-
Live educational session: Employees joined a session on practical workplace and personal actions to cut plastic
-
Annual target set: Reduce plastic waste by 2% in 2025 vs 2024 as part of our operational sustainability goals
-
Team-wide participation: Engagement across functions highlighted our shared responsibility in reducing waste
Official Recognition Earned
The event, officially titled “SHERBINY: Ending Plastic Pollution”, was recognized on May 21, 2025 by the UN Environment Programme under the global World Environment Day framework. Hosted at our headquarters in Al Khobar.
Looking Ahead
This recognition is just one step. We are committed to continuing our environmental efforts—locally and globally—in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and our own sustainability goals. From reducing plastic and emissions to fostering green skills in the workforce, Sherbiny will continue to lead by example.
